The 28th Latin American Congress of Architecture and Hospital Engineering AADAIH was held in Argentina from 4th to 7th of October. The motto of this year’s Argentine Congress is “Hospital sin fronteras”. One of the topics of the congress was the hospital as a technology hub and in this context, Marité Alonso (UNIQUE) and partner of the project presented HBS, a project promoted by NIBUG, Mario Corea Arq. and CT Ingenieros.
HBS is a system that integrates new planning, construction and management technologies such as Lean Construction, BIM and off-site manufacturing to build and also to manage hospital maintenance. These methods allow us to build more efficiently and obtain total control of the budget, time and final quality of the product. In short, industrialize the production processes. Not only that, but methodologies such as BIM allow us to manage the maintenance of the building in a more efficient way with the information entered from the beginning of the project, knowing the warranty time, materials budget, spare parts, location of these, etc.
The architectural project of the HBS hospitals, by Mario Corea and Hernan Gastelú, will be published in the 2017 Yearbook of the AADAIH (Argentinean Association of Architecture and Hospital Engineering).
